Shape definition

shape definition- Shapes are defined by contrast of differing light or color areas. Shapes exist in nature and we see these high contrast areas defined as lines. We see shapes visually and as they are emphasized by lines, they can have very complex effects in composition. They can be somewhat difficult to work with as they are often somewhat expected.Shapes can be geometrical and/or abstract.

When drawing shapes, you must consider the size and position as well as the shape of the area around it. The shapes created in the spaces between shapes are referred to as negative space.

Abstraction-Relating to or denoting art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but rather seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, colours, and textures.Relating to or denoting art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but rather seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, colours, and textures.
This is a photo of Keith Carter

This photo uses the lightning has created negative and positive spaces in the photo, so the womans face and body that you can see are positive, then the spaces that are pitch black are negative spaces. So this has created a silhouette. This photo can be seen as both art or as sexual objectification, personally i think that its art as its abstract photography and the photographer had taken this photo for art not to sexualise the woman as she is just natural.
